Two creative forces, Sarah the Lyrical Activist and DJ Azuhl, are set to release a powerful EP in September 2024, blending razor-sharp lyricism with genre-bending production. Rooted in themes of social justice, empowerment, and cultural pride, the project fuses spoken word, conscious rap, boom bap, soulful samples, and African textures. Saarah, a Cape Town-based poet and lyricist, is known for fearless storytelling that addresses inequality, gender rights, and systemic injustice. DJ Azuhl, a pioneer in South Africa’s DJ scene and a member of The Beat Bangaz, brings decades of sonic craftsmanship across hip hop, funk, and African grooves. “This EP is a reflection of my journey,” says Sarah. “It’s about truth and inspiring change through art.” Azuhl adds, “We’re honoring activism in music while pushing the sound forward.” The first single, “Mzansi,” drops 18/07/2025, setting the tone for a socially charged, rhythm-driven of work.
