Dream pop is a blend of pop rock and alternative rock that typically features hazy vocals (often female) and delayed guitars. Though its influences can be traced as far back as the 1940s, modern dream pop originated in the UK in the mid-'80s, as bands began fusing post-punk, ethereal wave, and ambient with pop melodies.
