Indie: Electro

Electro, sometimes referred to as electro-funk, is an electronic-based offshoot of disco. Electronic sounds are the foundation of the songs, unlike disco, which uses electronics just as instrumentation. Electro draws influence directly from use of TR-808 drum machines and funk samples, and though traditional vocals are rare, they are frequently present in a distorted or chopped-up form.
