Where tha Faves @

by Freaky Frank Clementi

For decades, Freaky Frank Clementi has been a force in the underground music scene of Long Island, New York. Emerging in the 1990s when vinyl still ruled the decks and warehouse raves pulsed through the night, Clementi carved out a reputation for his fearless mixing and genre-bending sets. From grimy basement parties to the most elusive after-hours spots, his sound has evolved with the times, seamlessly blending classic house, techno, and experimental beats. What sets Freaky Frank apart isn’t just his longevity—it’s his ability to stay ahead of the curve, pushing boundaries while keeping the raw, unfiltered energy that made him a staple in the scene. Whether he’s spinning for a packed crowd or dropping deep cuts in an intimate setting, Clementi remains a true architect of the underground, proving that the freaks still come out at night.

Story Mode Version

“Freaky” Frank Clementi is one of those behind the scenes players who has had influence in some of the most prolific moments/events in American Rave history.

Being an integral piece of the underground movement from its initial surge in the U.S. with parties like Stormrave, Frank became involved with the inner workings of production at venues like the seminal Caffeine warehouse (1993), leading all the way up to RTDF (Respect the Dance Floor) in 2023. Now at his 30 year mark and having been influenced by the deepest, strongest DJs in the world, Freaky Frank’s personal touch on the sounds he curates like an alchemist brings his funky golden touch of sheer quality to life. With the genius of a mad hatter he strings his dancers from start to finish in a crescendo of his own magical musical journey.

As someone deeply entrenched in the industry and working for one of the highest grossing pro DJ retailers in the world, Frank was dubbed a ‘technological genius’ (Mike Zilla, Neon East) having been taught by the experts at such titans as Pioneer, Serato, Vestax, Rane, Native Instruments, Allen and Heath, Shure and Denon. At IDJNOW’s headquarters, in true PLUR form, he paid it forward by teaching, training and providing technical knowledge. Be it a long way from his Caffeine years of doing lighting, hiring, guest list etc. Frank’s involvement expanded with a long line of subsequent production companies and events such as Journey to the Center of the Earth, Essence, Vibe Tribe, Mixology, SmooveGroove, Neon East, Get Down, TNL, Goodbus and more.

Freaky Frank’s abundant experience brought him to share a bill with such intrepid talent as KRS-One, Superstar DJ Keoki, Bad Boy Bill, Frankie Bones, Lenny Dee and other highly recognizable names of the underground multinational. Frank DJ’ed such events as the Coney Island Mermaid Parade Ball at the NY Aquarium (alongside Moby), and at the Amazura Ballroom for 1000+ people but it was at an event called #WINNING that Franks raw ability was put to a spotlight when he was chosen from the crowd as a fill in for a DJ who could not play and astounded onlookers and event planners alike with his absolute grace and utmost confidence under pressure bringing a vibe he then dubbed Deep Dance to those movers and shakers.

As a key brain child of Strong Island Underground, one at the core of Frank's motivations, the idea of bringing together his friends from the local underground community of oldskool DJs and the often unexplored upcoming talent, is to further enhance and promote growth amongst the most brilliant pool of ambitious musicians.

It is established among NY’s underground elite that Freaky Frank remains one of the top 10 DJs you want at your venuer/event.

Freaky Frank’s latest opus is his collaborative work with legendary DJ Frankie Bones as the tag team FRANKLIN SQUARED, with some original production in the works under his own imprint House of Song, and is currently open for bookings.
