DJ Koziba: A Purveyor of Deep, Jazzy, Atmospheric Dance Grooves

DJ Koziba is a maestro of emotive, feel-good music, crafting deep, jazzy, and atmospheric dance grooves that resonate with soul. Never afraid to explore the depths of sound, his musical selections serve as his own form of therapy, drawing from a rich tapestry of influences - Soul, Jazz, Funk, Disco, Hip-Hop, and R&B.

Born and raised in Gaborone, Botswana, DJ Koziba cultivated a deep knowledge and appreciation for music from an early age. His journey into deejaying began in 1992, when he fell in love with House music and started spinning vinyl records on turntables. He energized crowds at house parties, nightclubs, and festivals across Gaborone and its surrounding areas.

In 1995, he put his deejaying career on hold to focus on his studies. However, his passion never waned. By 1999, while pursuing higher education in Aberdeen, Scotland, he reignited his craft, mastering the art of CDJs, expanding his repertoire and being invited to perform in Aberdeen, Banchory, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Birmingham.

Upon returning to Gaborone in 2001, DJ Koziba made his mark on the airwaves, becoming a part-time radio presenter at Gabz FM. His late-night weekend shows on Fridays and Saturdays introduced audiences to the rich textures of Deep Soulful House. Beyond radio, he continued to move crowds at house parties, nightclubs, and festivals, extending his musical footprint beyond Botswana into South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe.

With a signature style that blends beautiful synth work, ethereal backdrops, brooding basslines, and infectious vocal hooks - all seamlessly woven into a hypnotic house beat - DJ Koziba continues to captivate listeners, transporting them into a world of rhythm and groove.
