Benito Battani, better known as DJ Lino B, is a master of the turntables with over 25 years of
commanding presence in the electronic music scene. His passion was ignited by the pulsating
underground sound system culture and the bass-thumping warehouse parties of his youth.
DJ Lino B is renowned for his deep, driving basslines, melodically dense textures, and intricately
edited percussive drum patterns. A purist at heart, he finds profound joy in the tactile nature of
vinyl, with deep house records being his preferred medium.
Over the decades, Lino has shared stages with illustrious figures in the industry, including icons like
Carl Cox, Boy George, Osunlade, and Deadmau5, among others. His expertise and vibrant sets have
seen him perform alongside Lil Louie Vega, Stimming, Kid Creme, and many more.
DJ Lino B's influence extends beyond live performances into the realms of radio and television. He
gained massive popularity through his weekly radio slot on YFM with Phat Joe in “The Friday Phat
Mix.” This exposure led to further radio opportunities on YFM Saturday evenings with Shabba and
Wednesdays on Metro FM. Transitioning into television, he secured a residency on the first live DJ
mix show “Go Chat,” which evolved into “Hit Refresh” on DSTV Channel 114.
A significant career milestone was his selection as a featured DJ for the Ministry of Sound Gold Tour
SA, alongside headliners like Mark Moore and CJ Mackintosh. DJ Lino B has also released seven
