This mix is my tribute to the sound that once lit up dance floors around the world. A musical journey into sun-drenched Italy of the early ’90s, the golden era of Italo House.
A five-hour trip through warm (Deep) House and Garage, classic Italian Latino/Ambient House, the occasional ‘piano screamer’, closing off with the more progressive Italian Techno sound.

The mix also includes a number of re-edits I did. Some records kept being sidelined, often due to an overload of vocals, endlessly repeating samples, or a so-so rap. Do It! - Be For Be Bop is a great example: buried beneath layers of (movie) samples lies a beautiful track in the spirit of Morenas, Pais Tropical, or Roy The Boy’s Paradis.
Sometimes I do an edit to let certain parts stand out more, like the piano loops in Kate 24’s Open Your Heart or Oh What! by Incredible X.
My approach is to preserve the authenticity of the original, by only using parts of the original. The edits should sound like they could have been featured on the original 12-inch.

Attentive listeners may have spotted a brief detour to Japan, where Soichi Terada & Shinichiro Yokota seemed to imagine themselves in sunny Italy when they produced 'Shake Yours'. Roberto Attarantato's (Bob One) team gave Kariya (USA) a full-blown Italo House makeover, just like FPI project did with Love Revolution's (UK) 'Give It To Me Baby'.

I put a lot of time into the preparation: selecting the music, recording and cleaning up the 12-inches for the best possible sound quality. Then came the mixing process, weaving together over 70 tracks into one five-hour musical journey. All in all, a months-long project I worked on with joy, love and dedication.

Enjoy the ride, and hopefully this mix takes you back to the warm, Mediterranean sound of the golden era of Italo House: 1990-1993. A quietly influential genre that continues to inspire new generations.

Questo mix è il mio omaggio al sound che, un tempo, accendeva le piste da ballo di tutto il mondo. Un viaggio musicale nell’Italia baciata dal sole dei primi anni ’90: l’epoca d’oro dell’Italo House.
Un viaggio di cinque ore attraverso la calda Deep House e Garage, la classica Latino/Ambient House italiana, con qualche immancabile “piano screamer” (come direbbero in Inghilterra), e un finale più progressivo, firmato Italian Techno.

Il mix contiene anche diversi miei re-edit. Alcuni brani venivano spesso messi da parte: troppo carichi di voci, campioni ripetuti all’infinito o rap poco convincenti.
Un buon esempio è Do It! – Be For Be Bop: sotto una montagna di campionamenti (anche da film) si nasconde una traccia splendida, nello spirito di Morenas, Pais Tropical o Paradis di Roy The Boy.
A volte faccio un re-edit proprio per mettere in risalto certi elementi, come i loop di piano in Open Your Heart di Kate 24 o Oh What! di Incredible X.
Il mio approccio è sempre lo stesso: rispetto per l’originale. Uso solo gli elementi presenti nella traccia di partenza, e l’edit deve suonare come se fosse stato incluso nella 12" originale.

Gli ascoltatori più attenti avranno notato una breve deviazione in Giappone, dove Soichi Terada e Shinichiro Yokota sembravano sentirsi in un’Italia assolata quando hanno prodotto Shake Yours. Il team di Roberto Attarantato (Bob One) ha dato a Kariya (USA) una rivisitazione in chiave Italo House, proprio come aveva fatto l’FPI Project con “Give It To Me Baby” dei britannici Love Revolution.

Ho dedicato moltissimo tempo alla preparazione: la selezione musicale, la registrazione e la pulizia dei 12" per ottenere la miglior qualità sonora possibile.
Poi è arrivata la fase del mixaggio: oltre 70 tracce intrecciate in un’unica storia musicale lunga cinque ore. Un progetto durato mesi, realizzato con gioia, passione e dedizione.

Buon ascolto! Spero che questo viaggio ti riporti al suono caldo e mediterraneo dell’epoca d’oro dell’Italo House: 1990-1993.
Un genere, spesso sottovalutato, che ancora oggi continua a ispirare nuove generazioni.
