Indie Dance / Alternative dance

As a music lover of the new wave / Post-punk or even Alternative dance, theat sound from the 80s, I went looking for the mainly danceable elements of this music. I wondered if and in what way these genres still live on. I discovered that many Indie Dance tracks have this typical sound. Often adapted to our times, but also with very clear elements from the past. For me a reason to regularly make a mix with a selection from this genre.

Indie Dance as it lives on today in the Beatport indie dance chart with artists such as deflee, vakabular, margaryan, plastic robots, badwolf, sharam jey, rbrn, helssloot, biesmans, joyce muniz and many more...

Born as Alternative dance (also known as indie dance or underground dance in the United States is a musical genre that mixes alternative rock (Danceable Post-punk-New wave) with electronic dance music.
Although largely confined to the British Isles, it has gained American and worldwide exposure through acts such as Post-Punk, New wave bands like New Order in the 1980s and the Prodigy and in the 1990s.
