The autumn dusk (𝙎𝙔𝙎 𝙍𝙀𝙎𝙀𝙏 )

As we rise, summer fades in amber glow,
Get down, the leaves whisper rhythms below,
Keep falling in love with the dusk and its fire,
Servitude to harvest, to longing, desire,
Genetic waste dissolves—atomic, autumnic choir.

Autumn’s Hearth (Leon Ivor )

The wind, brisk and biting, casts a vivid constellation of leaves down upon the street, rain slicked and cracked. As my boots scrape against the legacy of my ancestors, there beneath the sidewalk, the veil between worlds thins again. Samhain, it was in days long past, adapted now into whatever Halloween is. Oh look, a 12-foot Jack Skellington!

I must hold on to some comfort, both within and at home. I cross the threshold, cinnamon, clove, and ginger perfume the air. Something is baking as the pot boils over on the stove. The kids are blissfully screaming, toys and crafts are strewn across the living room, like sand on a dune, stayed yet always shifting. At least here, before the hearth of our lives, everything is in its right place.
