This special edition is all about celebrating Women’s Day in South Africa, shining a spotlight on the incredible women in the Mzansi jazz scene, both new and legendary.

At VR ONE #MixRadio, we live by "We Got MOODS," and this episode is no exception! We’ve curated a lineup that’s perfect for every vibe, whether you’re chilling at home or vibing out with friends.

Opening with words by Emma Mabye sets the tone as we kick things off with the powerful “Kunzima - Dark Side of the Rainbow” by the iconic Thandiswa, followed by the soulful Maleh with her track “Mosadi.” Then, the talented Thembelihle Dunjana graces us with “Beloved Child,” a heartfelt piece that resonates deeply.

Lira brings her inspirational anthem “Believer,” a testament to her incredible journey over the years. And we can’t forget the ever-magnificent Buhlebendalo as she honors Brenda Fassie with a stunning rendition of “Too Late for Mama,” highlighting the struggles women face in today’s world.

Shouting out the new school, we’ve got 1020 Cartel’s Yallunder delivering the beautiful “Uthando Lwam,” while Zoë Modiga holds it down with “Indlela” and "Ngelosi".

This episode is packed with talent, featuring the likes of Malondolo, a cornerstone of the Limpopo jazz scene, alongside greats like Linda Tshabalala, Thandi Ntuli, Camagwini, Ami Faku, and exciting new voices like Lia Butler, N'den, Lizzie Berchie ft. Filah Lah Lah, and Bokang Ramatlapeng.

Big ups to all the incredible SA artists pushing our jazz scene to the world! Your talent and dedication inspire us daily, and we’re committed to supporting you now and always.
