Music was a part of his life since the very beginning. The radio was playing 24/7.
This love for music only grew stronger in the early nineties. Slobodan was amazed by the strident nightlife and the colourful diversity of the club scene, and grew more and more fond of electronical music. He never lost his fascination for the art of dj‘ing and the hypnotic sounds, so in 1992 Slobodan decided to give it a try himself.
He started out with some lacklustre equipment, and performed only in front of friends and family, but step by step he laid his hands on professional pieces of equip, like turntables by Technics, type 1210.
Through tireless practice DJ Schwarzlicht honed his skills on the turntables, and soon rocked some smaller parties.
Since there was always need for new vinyl records, Slobodan and his brother came up with the idea, of starting their very own records store.
One year later this idea became reality. A records store opened its doors in Vienna, with the help of the German franchise partner Humpty Records. Through strong partnership and the upcoming of new labels and music genres, their store grew to a hotspot for DJs and music enthusiasts of the scene.
Ten years later the partnership ended, and after a short break, Straight Records (Online Record Store) was established.
Throughout all that time, DJ Schwarzlicht worked hard, to improve his DJ skills, and was rewarded with numerous national and international bookings.
Always looking for the perfect track, he’s aiming for high quality mixes. Dj Schwarzlicht mixes consist of minimalistic, groovy electronic music, sometimes House, always impulsive and especially dancable. Thus DJ Schwarzlicht doesn’t root for only one style, but unites skillfully Minimal, House, Deep- & Tech House and Techno.
His Motto: One needs different ingredients for the perfect mix! Feeling for the rythm, the right selection of music, having fun while mixing and a connection to the audience! This motto consists in all of his sets.

Biografie (german)

Musik war sein Begleiter ab dem ersten Tagen seines Lebens. Das Radio musste immer an sein.
Diese Liebe zur Musik manifestierte sich in den frühen 90er Jahren, begeistert vom schrillen Nachtleben und der bunten Vielfalt der Clubszene findet er immer mehr gefallen an der Elektronischen Musik. Das Interesse und die Faszination für die Kunst des Plattenauflegens und der hypnotischen Klänge ließen ihn bis heute nicht mehr los. Deswegen entschließt er sich 1992 es selbst zu versuchen.
Anfangs, auf eher hobbymäßigem Equipment, werden im Freundeskreis die ersten Platten gemixt. Ziemlich bald erfolgt die Umstellung auf professionelles Equipment. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt waren das Plattenspieler der Marke Technics vom Type 1210.
Fortan verbessert DJ Schwarzlicht unermüdlich sein Können an den Plattenspielern und beschallt die ersten kleineren Partys.
Durch die bedingte Notwendigkeit nach ständig neuen Platten, plant er gemeinsam mit seinem Bruder die Eröffnung eines eigenen Records Stores.
Ein Jahr später wird dieser Plan tatsächlich realisiert. Mit dem deutschen Franchisepartner Humpty Records wird kurzerhand eine Filiale in Wien eröffnet. Durch die starke Partnerschaft und die Einführung neuer Labels und Musikstilen, etabliert sich der Laden ziemlich rasch zum Hotspot für DJs und Musikliebhaber der Szene.
Nach 10 Jahren wurde die Partnerschaft beendet und nach einer kurzen Schaffenspause wurde Straight Records (Online Record Store/Vinyl Vertrieb) gegründet.Währenddessen verbesserte er stetig seine DJ Skills und seine Mixkünste, um mit zahlreichen Bookings national und international belohnt zu werden.
Immer auf der Suche nach dem perfekten Track legt er sein Augenmerk auf Qualität beim Mixen. DJ Schwarzlicht gestaltet seine Mixe minimalistisch, groovig, teils housig - jedoch immer treibend und vor allem tanzbar. Somit beschränkt er sich nicht nur auf eine einzige Stilrichtung der elektronischen Musik, sondern er vereint gekonnt Minimal, House, Deep- & Tech House und Techno.
Sein Motto: Für den perfekten Mix sind unterschiedliche Zutaten notwendig! Dazu gehören, sein Rhythmusgefühl, die richtige Auswahl der Musik, Spaß beim Mixen und die Verbindung zum Publikum! Dieses Motto spiegelt sich in allen seiner Sets wieder.
