Biography:

JMK aka Jean-Marie K, or the extraordinary story of an electronic griot.
3 initials that say a lot about the artist: a Jean that goes perfectly with the K of Klubs. Man of the night, pioneer of electronic music in France, he started in the 90s in Paris as a DJ with Laurent Garnier, the man he considers his mentor. He replaced him in prestigious clubs like the Palace and especially the Rex Club. A promising start for the continuity of his career. Since that evening, Jean-Marie K has been touring French and international clubs. In Paris we find him at the Boy or at the Queen, and resided at the Locomotive in Paris for 4 years
Jean-Marie K is above all a DJ at heart. He performs all over Europe as well as in Miami (WMC), New York, Shanghai, Montreal, Tokyo and even Tahiti, and also on new stages: in Morocco (resident at Platinium for 5 years in Rabat), including Slovenia, Bosnia for the first Electronic evening just after the war in 2000, in Sarajevo central station. He thus travels between the different clubs of Athens, St Petersburg, Zagreb, Berlin, Brussels, Tokyo or Moscow.
He is present at major events in Europe, from the Love Parade to Mayday, including major festivals like Mistery Land, Dimensions, Bacvice Festival, Moondance festival in Croatia, IMS in Ibiza.

Resident for 9 years on Radio FG with his show After FG alongside artists like Carl Cox, Sven Vath, Roger Sanchez, he is also a radio enthusiast. He will be one of the few to keep his residence for 9 years. He will sign a part of the famous compilation “After FG”. A special artist who contributed to the success of Dancefloors FG, which sold more than a million copies, alongside the Artistic Director of FG DJ Radio, our late friend Didier Sinclair and the entire radio team.

Producer, he signs on labels like NRK, GF in Miami, FG Recordings, Megaphone Records, Pschent, Serial Records, Jays Records, 96 Musique. He is at the origin of the Techno-oriented musical project Soundiata with his friend Natalino Nunes, whose latest EP was released on the Berlin label Betrieb Records. He also remixes artists like Joachim Garraud, Antoine Clamaran, Salif Keita, Sophie Elis Bextor, Agrume and Shazz.

In 2014, he signed his project KnR with Oliver Fox on the famous 96 Musique label alongside The Avener: a resolutely House/Deep House project with titles already compiled on numerous projects around the world. Success is there with the presence of all his titles on the famous compilation “We Go Deep”.
In 2016 he celebrated his 20th anniversary in Croatia with a tour throughout the country. A fan of this country since 1996, he is one of the best representatives of this new party destination. A pioneer in this country, he quickly managed to convince artists like Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier and Derrick May to come and play there. For him, the Croatian public is one of the best audiences in the world.
Since then, he has collaborated with young artists like Shazz, Kusmee, Mydoz, Agrume, and Niko Flaco. In 2017 he founded his new label Electronic Griot after having decided with his friend and emblematic artist French Shazz of the legendary label F.Communications, to launch The Shazzer Project.

Together to re-release some of Shazz's most notable tracks over the past 25 years! with the desire to discover or rediscover Shazz's emblematic titles from his albums or F Communications releases, remixed by major players in the electronic music scene.
But the main objective of Eletcronic Griot is to recapture the spirit of the label since the beginning of the electronic music movement, widely open to all kinds of quality electronic music, and more than that by focusing on the wishes of the The artist and his philosophy, not solely on the demands of the market or the trend. This is how on their project we can find artists like Chez Damier, Djul’z, Ian Polley, Bush or even Petard dundov, or Dan Ghenacia

JMK alias Jean-Marie K, ou l’histoire extraordinaire d’un griot électronique.
3 initiales qui en disent énormément sur l’artiste : un Jean qui se Marie parfaitement avec le K des Klubs. Homme de nuit, pionnier de la musique électronique en France, il débute dans les années 90' à Paris en tant que DJ avec Laurent Garnier, celui qu'il considère comme son mentor. Il le remplace dans des clubs prestigieux comme le Palace et surtout le Rex Club. Un début prometteur pour la continuité de sa carrière. Depuis ce soir-là, Jean-Marie K écume les clubs de France et internationaux. A Paris on le retrouve au Boy ou encore au Queen, et résident à la Locomotive à Paris pendant 4 ans
Jean-Marie K est un DJ de coeur avant tout. Il se produit partout en Europe ainsi qu’à Miami (WMC), New York, Shangaï, Montréal, Tokyo ou encore Tahiti, et également sur de nouvelles scènes : au Maroc (résident au Platinium pendant 5 ans à Rabat), en passant par La Slovenie, la Bosnie pour la première soirée Electronique juste après la guerre en 2000, dans la gare centrale de Sarajevo. Il vogue ainsi entre les différents clubs d’Athènes, St Petersbourg, Zagreb, Berlin, Bruxelles, Tokyo ou Moscou.
Il est présent dans les grands rendez-vous en Europe, de la Love Parade à Mayday, en passant par les grands festivals comme Mistery Land, Dimensions, Bacvice Festival, Moondance festival en Croatie, IMS à Ibiza.

Résident pendant 9 ans sur Radio FG avec son show After FG aux côtés d'artistes comme Carl Cox, Sven Vath, Roger Sanchez, c’est aussi un passioné de radio. Il sera l’un des rares à garder sa résidence pendant 9 ans. Il signera un volet de la fameuse compilation « After FG ». Un artiste à part qui a contribué au succès des Dancefloors FG vendu à plus d'un million d’exemplaires aux côtés du Directeur Artistique de FG DJ Radio, notre regretté et ami Didier Sinclair et de toute l’équipe de la radio.

En 2016 il fête ses 20 ans de Croatie avec une tournée dans tout le pays. Fan de ce pays depuis 1996 il est un des meilleurs représentant de cette nouvelle destination de fête. Pionnier dans ce pays, il arrive très vite à convaincre des artistes comme Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier ou Derrick May à venir jouer là-bas. Pour lui le public croate est un des meilleurs publics du monde.
Depuis il enchaine les collaborations avec des jeunes artistes comme Shazz, Kusmee, Mydoz , Agrume , ou encore Niko Flaco .En 2017 il fonde son nouveau label Electronic Griot après avoir décidé avec son ami et artiste emblématique French Shazz du mythique label F.Communications, de lancer The Shazzer Project.
