Summerlove Sensation (Bay City Rollers) - A cover song in honour of Alain Longmuir

"Summerlove Sensation" is a song originally recorded by the Bay City Rollers. It was part of their 1974 album Rollin'. In the same year it was also released as a single. The single peaked at no. 3 on the UK Singles Chart. Alan Longmuir (20 June 1948 – 2 July 2018) was a Scottish musician and the bass guitarist of the 1970s pop group, the Bay City Rollers. Longmuir died on 2 July 2018 at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert, Scotland, after contracting an illness while on holiday in Mexico, where he had been a patient at the Galenia Hospital in Cancun but had been cleared to return home. He was 70.

With the death of Alain Longmuir the first musician of the Bay City Rollers died, a pop band that I always loved to listen to in my youth in the 70s and whose songs still conjure up beautiful nostalgic thoughts for me today. In his honour I sang this very cheerful song, lead vocals and all backing vocals, which were always very sophisticated and good sounding.

Longmuir starb am 2. Juli 2018 im Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert, Schottland, nachdem er sich im Urlaub in Mexiko eine Krankheit zugezogen hatte, wo er im Galenia Hospital in Cancun behandelt wurde, aber nach einiger Zeit nach Hause freigegeben worden war. Er wurde 70 Jahre alt.

Mit dem Tod von Alain Longmuir ist der erste Musiker der Bay City Rollers verstorben, einer Pop-Band, die ich in meiner Jugend in den 70er Jahren immer sehr gerne gehört habe und deren Songs mir auch heute noch schöne nostalgische Gedanken herbeizaubern. Ihm zu Ehren habe ich diesen sehr fröhlichen Song eingesungen, Hauptstimme und alle Backing-Vocals, die bei den Bay City Rollers auch immer sher ausgefeilt und gut klingend waren.
